Romanian Transport Min Thinks Airport Bomb-Scare Could Be Related To Fmr Manager’s Resignation
Romanian Transport Minister Radu Berceanu told a news conference Wednesday he thinks the bomb-scare on the airport in Timisoara, western Romania, Wednesday morning could have something to do with the recent resignation of the airport’s manager.

The minister added he will send the ministry's control body to check the airport's economic activity for the past years.
Timisoara International Airport general manager Alexandru Chirila resigned early January, just one month after his appointment in the position, after the transport minister sacked the previous manager, Dan Idolu.
Two planes were searched on the Timisoara airport Wednesday morning and nine flights were delayed after a man placed an anonymous call saying a passenger aboard one of the flights had a bomb in his luggage.
A flight of Romanian airliner Carpatair that took off Wednesday morning from Bucharest and landed in Timisoara was checked following suspicions of a bomb threat aboard. Previously, the bomb was thought to be aboard a Wizzair flight from Timisoara to London. The plane was forced to return and land minutes after takeoff and its 165 passengers were evacuated.
The threat turned out to be false and the caller, Viorel Anghelescu, 49, was arrested and brought in for questioning. He risks one to three years in prison.
