Russia’s Putin Invites Romanian President To Moscow

Romanian president Traian Basescu thanked Russian president Vladimir Putin Friday for having attended the NATO summit in Bucharest, and Putin invited Basescu to Moscow.

Basescu thanked Putin for having accepted the invitation to attend the NATO summit. Putin congratulated Romania for the organization of the summit and reiterated his invitation for Basescu to visit Moscow.
 
Putin also said that after Basescu’s visit to Russia in 2005, economic relations between the two countries improved and reached some $5 billion.  
 
Putin thanked for the hospitality received and reminded the Romania-Russia bilateral relation will be 130 years old in October.
 
The two heads of state asked the media to leave the room and continued discussions.
