Signature List Backing Bucharest Mayor Candidate Oprescu Includes 24 Newborns

Romania’s National Initiative Party, or PIN, said the list of signatures backing the candidacy of independent Soprin Oprescu for they Bucharest mayor seat, includes 24 babies, born on Apr 13 and 16, 2008.

"Following our investigation on the phone on the list backing Oprescu, apart from the fact that less than 1% of people called admitted to have signed the list, we found another incredible fact: 24 babies, born on April 13, 2008 and April 16, 2008 are featured as having signed to back Oprescu!!!,” the party said in a press release.

To clear matters up, PIN publicly requests hospitals with maternity wards to analyze the list of signatures and shed light on the situation, which the party considers “worthy of the World Book of Records”.

The party also attached the list of signatures. The list includes 24 names, complete with addresses and ID card serial numbers. The first positions in the “date of birth” column are inscribed with the date Apr 13, 2008, while the following positions contain the date Apr 16, 2008.
