The upgrading process of Bucharest's Henri Coanda Otopeni airport will be postponed for another four years, by 2019, because the Zonal Urban Planning, or PUZ, is not finished, according to the company’s strategic plan.

According to the new plan, the road, railway and metro infrastructure, which are necessary for easing access to the eastern part of the airport, should be finished until 2013, two years later than the initial timetable.
 
The plan also says that a new passenger terminal should be built until the end of 2019, four years later compared to the initial deadlines of 2015 respectively.
 
The total estimated value of the modernization works is EUR 450 million.
 
The deadline for expropriation of 200 people in the area is set for June 30, 2010, one year later than former decided, as shown in a project by the Transports Ministry.
 
The traffic on Henri Coanda might reach 5.82 million passengers this year, 30% higher than 4.978 million in 2007, the ministry said.
 
In the following years, the traffic is estimated to rise 10% a year, reaching 18.29 million passengers in 2020.
