Coronavirus in Romania: Infections number approaches 1.000. There have been 17 deaths in 24 hours

In the last 24 hours, 953 new cases of coronavirus infection have been registered out of almost almost 36.000 tests and 17 patients have died. The number of patients admitted to intensive care units reached 228.

Coronavirus in Romania: Infections number approaches 1.000. There have been 17 deaths in 24 hours

To date, on 26 August, 1.093.924 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID - 19) have been confirmed in Romania.

1.053.091 patients have been declared cured.

Following the tests performed at national level, compared to the last report, 953 new cases of people infected with SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) have been registered, these being cases that had not previously had a positive test.

Apart from the newly confirmed cases, following the retesting of patients who were already positive, 143 people have been reconfirmed as infected.

To date, 34.471 people diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 infection have died.

Between 25.08.2021 and 26.08.2021, there were reported by INSP 18 deaths (9 men and 9 women), of some patients infected with the new coronavirus, hospitalized in Argeş, Bihor, Brăila, Botoşani, Cluj, Caraş-Severin, Galaţi, Giurgiu, Mureş, Neamţ, Sibiu, Sălaj, Prahova and Bucharest.
