Film Lovers Can Enjoy Premiers At French Film Festival In Bucharest

“The French film industry is a colorful one in which one finds all types of movies. We wish to demonstrate by means of this festival the modernity of the French film industry,” said Didier Montagne, deputy manager of the French Institute in Bucharest.

This year, Bucharest is hosting the 11th annual edition of the festival.

The festival is to take place in four cinema halls in Bucharest, respectively the Elvira Popescu Cinema, the Cinema Pro, the Cinema Europa and Cityplex cinema halls.

A very important section of this edition will be the retrospective dedicated to director, scriptwriter and actor Olivier Assayas, in which seven of his movies will be presented.

The well-known “Formidable!” section will present movies selected by six Romanian film critics.   

Romanian director Cristian Mungiu will present to the public his “4 luni, 3 săptămâni şi 2 zile” ( 4 months, 3 weeks and 2 days) and “Occident” as well as two movies from the French film industry that inspired him in his carrier, Bruno Dumont’s “Flandres" and “La vie de Jesus.”

The festival’s organizers decided to keep the “free ticket” formula this year as well. Thus, for each ticket bought to one of the movies presented in the “Formidable!” section the viewer will receive another free ticket for another movie in the same section.
