Freezing Temperatures In Eastern Romania Touch 2-Yr Record

The temperatures in eastern Romania recorded the lowest values in the past two years, between minus 15 degrees Celsius and minus 24 degrees Celsius.

“The lowest temperature, of minus 24 degrees Celsius, was reported in the cities Botosani and Roman (Neamt county) and Negresti (Vaslui county). Freezing weather was also registered in localities Suceava, Bacau and Vaslui, where the temperatures dropped to minus 23 degrees Celsius,” the head of the meteorology center in Moldova, Constantin Dracsineanu, said Saturday.

“These are the lowest temperatures over the past two years, as the last winter was not so cold,” Dracsineanu added.

He said tonight’s regional forecast show slightly higher temperatures, of up to minus 20 degrees Celsius.
