Basescu said that the European Council enacted a document according to which citizens from European states are favored to find employment within the EU with respect to citizens from non-European states.
However, the president said that two non-European countries, Moldova and the Republic of Cape Verde respectively, make exception to the rule.
Both Moldova and the Republic of Cape Verde would receive treatment equal to EU countries with respect to employment conditions.
The president said that Romania voted that Moldova receive this facilitate while Portugal proposed the Republic of Cape Verde.
“I hope that laborers in the two countries receive treatment equal to those in Romania, country member of the European Union,” concluded Basescu.
