Tariceanu confirmed that he received Chiuariu’s resignation.

Regarding the future minister of justice, Tariceanu said he cannot make a decision today.

The liberal leader also said an interim would be appointed if the case may be.

Tairceanu said the new justice minister would be appointed following a vote in the party’s Central Standing Office.

Chiuariu submitted his resignation Monday afternoon to the Office of Prime Minister Tariceanu.

Chiuariu announced his resignation Sunday in a press conference, adding he would come back to continue reforms in the country’s legal system when “ridiculous attacks against him” cease.

Chiuariu said he thinks he did nothing wrong and that he refuses to be part of the president’s masquerade.

The president on Friday urged for the dismissal of the justice minister, who is under criminal investigation.
