The Presidential Administration published a schedule for the talks, with opposition and minority parties invited to attend over the course of Thursday, April 11, and talks ruling coalition parties reserved for Friday, April 12.
Each party’s delegation can have a maximum of five members.
However, ruling coalition party ALDE announced later on Friday that it would not send representatives to the Presidential Palace, while the leader of their coalition partners PSD, Liviu Dragnea, also said that he wouldn’t personally attend the talks.
The president previously announced that the referendum will concern the government’s ability to amend criminal and judicial legislation by emergency decree, and the interdiction of amnesty and pardoning for corruption offences.
