Romania’s Capital City Bucharest To Host 16th Edition Of EUROPAfest In May

Romania’s capital city Bucharest will host the 16th edition of famous festival EUROPAfest, during May 7 and 13, which will delight the audience with live concerts of blues, jazz, pop and classical music performed by over 300 artists from 40 countries, the organizers of the event said Friday.

The festival will start on May 7 with a concert celebrating Europe Day and organized in association with the European Commission Delegation in Romania. The event reunites one of the most talented artists performing at the festival.

Concerts will be performed at the Auditorium Hall of Romania’s National Art Museum and at Hard Rock Cafe.

Some of the artists ready to perform at the festival are as follows: Adio String Quartet (Austria), Virtual Jazz Band (Great Britain), Trio Elf (Germany), Stelzhamma (Austria), Chabliz (The Netherlands), Marcian Petrescu & Trenu de Noapte (Romania), Anne Czichowsky & Jazzpartout (Germany) and Sidesteps (Austria).

As regards contests, the third edition of the Bucharest International Jazz Competition within EUROPAfest, will also bring a lot of improvising, beside numerous percussion and brass instruments. Eighteen bands from 24 countries already registered for the contest.

The festival, under the aegis of Princess Margareta, will end on May 13, and Her Highness will hand over the Diploma of Excellency aiming to support culture.
