The subject was discussed in Thursday’s inter-ministry meeting concerning the implementation of agreements signed with Moldova at the end of last week.

Acting Prime Minister Emil Boc asked the ministries involved to draft the paperwork to implement the bilateral agreements signed by the two countries’ officials.

A Government press release said the implementation of the Agreement on small border traffic is the top priority. Boc asked ministry experts to enlist the aid of the councils of border counties in developing the normative act, taking into account all of the Agreement’s implications, such as Romania’s future inclusion into the Schengen area.

Moldovan Prime Minister Vlad Filat was in Bucharest last week, signing several bilateral agreements, regarding small border traffic, border controls and the mutual promotion and protection of investments.
