Romanian Communications Min Holds Auction For e-Romania Portal

In July, the first procedure was cancelled, because the literature needed some major changes in content, without which the auction would have been compromised.

The deadline for bidding and the opening of bids is October 1. Previously, the bids were to be filed by August 20.

"The switch to electronic Government (e-Government) and the achievement of the «paperless administration» objective represent a priority of our Government for the upgrade of public administration. The management and promotion of public information and services through electronic means leads to a powerful debureaucratization of the administrative process, a reduction in costs and a more efficient use of public funds, as well as a significant decrease in the acts of corruption," the participation announcement reads.

The contract will unfold over an interval of 45 months and involves the purchase of programming services, software consultancy and assistance, as well as customized software development, coupled with data reconversion services and consoles.

Previously, the Ministry of Communications intended to purchase hardware equipment, software applications and computer systems, antivirus solutions as well as programming and consultancy services.

The institution launched, on July 7, a first auction, which was later cancelled, on July 10, as “the attribution literature needs major changes in content, without which the procedure would be compromised."

The contract will be attributed to the bid that brings the most economic advantages.

The e-Romania portal is part of the National Strategy Digital Romania – e-Strategy for an Information Society, which has 14 sections, including broadband, digital television, minimal public administration or universal service.
