Furthermore, they said there are no problems within the ruling coalition, stressing the government will either carry out all reforms necessary for the country or simply "pack up and leave."

"It is high time we focused on core issues targeting jobs and the economic crisis. There are a lot of problems that must be discussed and solved, but I am absolutely sure Romanians want the ruling coalition and the government to focus on core issues and find a way to deal with them," social democrat leader Mircea Geoana said Monday before the meeting of the ruling coalition.

Prime Minister Emil Boc also pointed out the ruling coalition would not break up, arguing the government will either carry out the reforms necessary for the country and which nobody was bold enough to carry through over the past 20 years, or it will simply "pack up and leave."

Social democrat vice-president Victor Ponta and democrat liberal secretary general Vasile Blaga also highlighted the coalition would not break up.

In turn, democrat liberal transport minister Radu Berceanu said the democrat liberals are not at all angry with their social democrat partners and also ruled out the possibility of a breakup between the two ruling parties.
