Romanian Man Stabs His Mother 196 Times

The man was apprehended later while he was walking completely naked on the street reciting verses from the Bible to himself.

"Police officers were alerted that a completely naked man is walking down the Vanatorilor street. A patrol went on location and identified local B.B.R., 27 years of age, who was working as translator. When he was taken to the police station, he said he killed his mother in the apartment where they were living and took to the streets naked in order to purify himself of the deed," said Harghita County Police spokesman Gheorghe Filip.

A team of officers, the coroner and the criminal prosecutor found the victim’s body wrapped in a sheet on the floor of the apartment. The victim, aged 60, retired, was a former high school history teacher.

After examining the body, the coroner noted multiple stabbed wounds throughout the entire surface of the body, made with a kitchen knife that had been left near the victim.

"The body presented marks of violence and rare cruelty. There were 196 stab wounds, the tongue had been torn out and the cervical column fractured. Yesterday (Wednesday) when he was caught by police on the street, he was talking to himself, reciting verses from the bible, and when they asked him what was wrong, he said he received many signs from God telling him that if he kills his mother, she would be resurrected in three days," said prosecutor Florin Braic.
