The committee enacted an amendment to a legislative initiative amending Law 61/1991 sanctioning the violation of social inhabitance norms and the disturbance of public peace, developed by several members of Parliament.

Within debates, the members of the committee said they reject all amendments proposed through the legislative initiative, but they approved it after including in the report the provision proposed by the representative of the Ministry of Interior and Administrative Reform, MirceaAlexandru. He proposed the interdiction and sanctioning of parties organized in tents, in other similar locations, in areas found near dwellings or other buildings of social nature, if the party includes the use of instruments that might disturb public peace.

According to Alexandru, for the situations that the legislative initiative woud regulate, there is already text in Law 61/1991, which mentions that the unlawful disturbance of public peace is prohibited.

The Senate will debate this legislative initiative as first chamber notified.
