Romanian Political Parties, Pres Talk Price Hikes

 

The president of the Romanian democrat liberals, Emil Boc, said after propositions formulated by political parties, the conclusion reached was that the government needs to come up with a set of measures for needy people, which would be presented to political parties for consensus.

The democrat liberals were represented by former deputy prime minister Gheorghe Pogea.

Conservative party vice president Maria Grapini said that the head of state announced, in talks with political parties on the price hikes, that he would also meet with the representatives of the government after the political parties present their points of view.­­­­­­­­­

­­Grapini added Basescu did not mention a potential date for these talks with the government but the Executive would be the one to come up with the final solution for the matters discussed with the president. However, in solving these issues, the government will start from the views expressed by the parties.

Romania’s labor minister, liberal Paul Pacuraru, said after the meeting that the government would try to offer a technical reply in one week.
