Romanian Six Y-O Boy, Baby Among Italy Quake Victims

The names of five Romanians, including a six year old boy and a baby just a few months old, are on the list of victims of the powerful earthquake that shook Italy, which Italian civil protection authorities published Friday.

According to the list, Romanians who lost their lives in the quake are: Muntean Silviu Daniel (b. 2002), Enesoiu Adriana (b. 1961), Ghiorceanu Laurentiu Constantin(b. 1968), Ghiorceanu Antonio Ioava (b. 2008) and Bobu Darinca Mirandolina (b. 1973).

The death toll of the quake could climb to about 300 according to rescue teams, and powerful aftershocks are still being felt in the medieval town of L'Aquila, destroyed in the quake, AFP reported.

According to the most recent toll, the quake claimed the lives of 287 and left about 28,000 homeless, many of whom are living in tents and other temporary accommodation.

According to the Italian police, 1,170 people are injured of whom 179 severely.
