Romanians Charged With Assaulting Bulgarian Security Guards Released From Arrest

Romanian Consul to Sofia Marius Dilof told MEDIAFAX Monday evening that a court ruled to lift the 72-hour preventive arrest measure against the two Romanians, who are currently facing no interdictions.

According to the Romanian official, Nichita and Panzaru must pay a guarantee worth 5,000 leva and 3,000 leva respectively. Dilof said the money will be returned if the two are found not guilty.

Novinite.com said Saturday Nichita and Panzaru were arrested in Veliko Tarnovo after they tried to enter the Sevastokrator restaurant, which was reserved for Tsacheva and the organizers and official guests of the Stage of the Ages festival held in Tarnovo.

After being denied access into the restaurant, the two Romanians allegedly assaulted the security guards of the Parliament Speaker, prompting the latter to call the local police.The two were arrested and charged with causing bodily harm and failing to obey a police order.
