Union leader Ilie Sandu said airport officials and unionists failed to reach common ground during talks last week, stressing none of their eight demands were met.

Sandu said their demands target, among others, the payment of a 10% bonus for employees working in shifts, in accordance with the collective labor contract, and the payment of the vacation bonus worth 500 lei (EUR1=RON4.2552), included in the collective labor contract.

He pointed out that the go-slow strike would soon lead to general strike unless the company's management finds a way to meet their demands.

In turn, the airport's management said talks with the employees would continue, adding, however, that it is difficult to meet most of their demands, in the fallout of harsh economic conditions.

The airport's general manager, Cristian Pavalasc, said the employees' go-slow strike does not affect the airport's activity and stressed the economic crisis prevents the company's management from meeting their demands.
