Six Mine Blast Victims Released From Hospital In W Romania

The six miners hospitalized in the emergency hospital of western Romanian mining town Petrosani, after the blasts that occurred Saturday in the Petrila mine, were released Wednesday afternoon, as they were recovering well.

According to the manager of the Petrosani Emergency Hospital, Alexandrina Remescu, all six miners hospitalized there after the explosions in the Petrila mine were released Wednesday, as medical investigations revealed they have recovered.

On the other hand, another miner came to the hospital Tuesday evening. He was in the mine when the explosions took place and did not go to a doctor afterwards. He was committed so that doctors can monitor his condition.

A powerful blast killed eight miners Saturday and a second blast claimed the lives of four others, who had entered the mine for rescue operations. Another 14 people were injured, and six of them are in very serious condition in hospitals in Bucharest.
