Social Democrats Adopt Resolution, No Mention Of No-Confidence Motion

The PSD militates for the organization of early elections so that a “capable” executive might be formed.

The resolution was adopted with majority of votes. Some 10-15 votes were against it.

The resolution shows that early elections-based on the uninominal vote, is the rational solution for the country to escape the current deadlock.

PSD considers that parliamentary elections as well as local elections can take place at the same time, to push the process of forming a capable government.

The resolution also stipulates that president Traian Basescu lacks the will and is incapable of finding solutions to the current crisis.

PSD considers that the current political state the country is in, will affect the accession process to the European Union, forbidding Romania to access European funds.

The resolution makes no reference to the initiation of a no-confidence motion against Government.
