The airport’s manager Ştefan Mladin said that a special electric fence has been installed as a precautionary protection measure.

The “Aurel Vlaicu” airport in Baneasa will receive the flights of the official delegations coming to the NATO Summit.

All other flights will be either canceled, or redirected to Otopeni’s International Airport.

Both airports remain functional during the NATO Summit. However, all civilian flights will depart and land on Henri Coanda Airport in Otopeni.

During the summit period, 16 airplanes will remain on the ground in Aurel Vlaicu Airport, 11 in the airport in southeastern city of Constanta and another six in Timisoara’s airport.
