FRF lawyers said betting houses refused to meet this legal obligation, therefore, FRF had to take legal action.

The court’s ruling can be challenged in the Bucharest Court of Appeals whose decision in the matter is final and irrevocable.

This year in February, the Romanian lottery was foreclosed by FRF and forced to pay 20% of the money it collected for sporting bets in 2003-2005, amounting to RON18 million (EUR5 million).
