Military prosecutors decided on September 15 not to open criminal investigations either into the death of 12 of the people aboard the plane, or into the case of the two survivors of the accident. The same decision was taken as regards the destruction of the plane which belonged to the Romanian Defense Ministry.

Investigations showed that the plane crash was caused by some unpredictable technical problems. Evidence also revealed that the plane caught fire when it hit the ground and it was 95% damaged.

Twelve people died and two were severely injured in the plane crash in Tuzla. The 14 people aboard the plane were members of the crew and parachute jumpers. The AN-2 plane that crashed belonged to Boboc Air Force Application School, in Buzau county, and was on a parachute training mission.

An investigation commission was immediately set up to determine the cause of the accident.
