According to airport spokesperson Valentin Iordache, the airplane hit a pillar right when it was exiting the platform of the airport, suffering damages to its right wing.

“When it was doing the push-back manoeuvre, the right wing hit a pillar of the platform. The plane was not on the track of the airport. The passengers probably didn’t sense the impact. There are no victims,” Iordache said.

According to him, the passengers got off the plane and will reach the destination by a flight belonging to Malev or to other companies.

The plane was grounded as procedures require this measure, according to Mircea Ciuca, head of flight investigations within the Transport Ministry.
