Paula Seling & Ovi To Represent Romania In Eurovision Song Contest

Their song, "Playing With Fire," received 12 votes (out of 12) from the Eurovision jury and 12 from the public, the equivalent of 23,412 votes by telephone.

"I feel like I'm dreaming," Paula Seling said on a TV show following the national final. She thanked her parents and all her supporters.

"It is a great feeling. We've been working since we met at the [Golden Stag Festival] and, fortunately, our work was rewarded," said Ovi, who is also the song's composer. He said the song's concept would be developed for the contest semi-final in Oslo.

According to the Eurovision Contest's website, Romania participate in the second semi-final, which will take place on May 27. The top ten scoring countries from each semi-final will go on to the final.

Last year, Romania was represented by Elena Gheorghe, with the song "The Balkan Girls," which came in 19th.
