Renault Koleos To Sell 50 To 70 Units Per Month In Romania This Year

"As this is our first SUV, our target is not very high and we hope to deliver 50 to 70 Koleos  cars monthly. If demand increases, we can deliver more cars,” marketing manager of Renault Romania Rafael Treguer told a press conference Monday.

On the Romanian market, Renault Koleos is available in a choice of three Euro 4 power outputs, of which two are diesel engines and can be ordered for either the 4x2 or 4x4 versions.

The 2.5-liter Euro 4 powerplant delivers 170 hp, and will be available only with a manual speed gearbox for either the 4x2 or 4x4 versions.

The 2.0 dCi Euro 4 diesel engine is available in a choice of two power outputs. The first one delivers 150 hp and can be ordered for either the 4x2 or 4x4 versions and mated with either a six-speed manual gearbox or automatic transmission.

The second 2.0 dCi Euro 4 diesel engine delivers 175 hp, and can be mated with a speed manual gearbox for the 4x4 version.

On the Romanian market, Koleos has three equipment versions: Expression, Dinamique and Privilege.

The lowest price for Koleos is EUR21,100, VAT included, for the Expression version which includes a 2.5-liter Euro 4 engine for the 4x2 version.

The highest price for Koleos reaches EUR30,351 VAT included, for the 2.0 dCi Euro 4 diesel engine, which delivers 150 hp, mated with automatic transmission for the 4x4 version.

Renault Koleos is based on the P32 platform provided by the new Nissan X-Trail.

The French group innovated its design, sales and marketing processes, while Nissan focused on its technology.

 Renault Koleos, the tenth Renault model to obtain the maximum score of five stars in Euro NCAP crash tests, was built in South Korean factory Pusan and will be sold in over  40 countries.

 Renault officials said Koleos is best fit for men or families with one or two children, for the urban environment, with the exception of Russia and Mexico, where buyers will use their cars off-road too.

Renault officials added they launched Koleos following the increasing demand for SUVs, on the backdrop of the downfall in the European demand for class C and class D vehicles.

The sales of Renault group in Romania were up 37.4% last year, to 32,308 units, ranking second after the sales of Dacia model cars.
