Chiuariu already submitted a document to the government justifying such a gesture as the consequence of the failure as to enacting the ordinance amending the law on the National Integrity Agency (ANI), which was established to screen politicians' wealth and cracking down top-level corruption.
Chiuariu pointed out in the document that he intends to submit his resignation this week, stressing there still are a few draft laws on the agenda of the ministry he runs which he wishes to complete.
The minister reminded the fact that the ordinance amending the ANI Law, which was submitted once again by the Senate to the committee for legal matters, is the third act rejected or amended by the Parliament against the recommendations forwarded by the European Commission.
Chiuariu said he considers that the Senate’s voting aims to eliminate any checkups on politicians’ outrageous wealth.
