Romanian Liberal VP Could Run For President In Fall

Romanian National Liberal Party vice-president Crin Antonescu told MEDIAFAX Friday that he will run for the presidency of the party only if there is a congress called in March, adding that if the congress is postponed, he will not run for president of Romania either.

Asked whether he will run for the top position within the National Liberal Party and for president of Romania, Crin Antonescu said he will only run if a congress is called in March.

"If and only if there is an extraordinary congress, then I might run for these two positions, in the order in which they are voted. I am convinced we need an extraordinary congress in March," Antonescu said.
