"My colleagues and I have concluded that we have a major responsibility, as a party, to pull CNSAS out of this jam. We feel that we have the obligation and the means to ensure the existence and functioning of a structure such as CNSAS, which would allow access to each individual to their own Securitate file, an institution that would continue the unmasking of the former Securitate and which would be the keeper of this extraordinary archive," Tariceanu stated at the end of the meeting between party leaders and liberal Parliament groups.

Asked if the government would take responsibility bin Parliament for a potential CNSAS law draft, Tariceanu said: "I cannot offer details regarding the manner in which we would solve the problem."

The Liberal Democratic Party asked the Government to issue an emergency ordinance for the continuation of CNSAS activity, said party leader Emil Boc.

The Constitutional Court decided that the Law on the National Council for the Study of Securitate Archives (CNSAS) is unconstitutional, admitting the exception raised in the case Dan Voiculescu versus CNSAS.
