Romanian Social Democrat Supporters Receive Party-Supporter Cards, Not Enough To Become Members

Romanian social democrat leader Victor Ponta Sunday handed out party-supporter cards to the young social democrat supporters who registered with the party on-line and came to the political group’s headquarters on May 2.

Supporters who register with the party on-line are not members of the party until they receive a membership card and not only a party-supporter card.

Ponta and the young party supporters also visited Romania's Parliament within the "Open Gates" event organized by the Chamber of Deputies on Saturday and Sunday.

Thousands of members and supporters of Romania's Social Democratic Party in opposition Saturday marched in the streets countrywide, marking the International Workers' Day by protests against the Government led by Prime Minister Emil Boc.
