Romanian Woman Shot In N Italy Dies

The Romanian woman shot in Verona by her employer, because of an alleged conflict between the two of them, died in the hospital, Corriere della Sera informed online.

Corriere della Sera reported Monday that a young Romanian woman was badly injured after she and her husband had been shot by an Italian man, seemingly because of a love affair, in the Verona province (Veneto region, northern Italy).

The incident occurred Sunday in Mozzecane di Villafranca and the 25 year-old Romanian woman was short in the head by a 47 year-old Italian. According to news agency APcom, the woman was in cerebral death. Her husband, shot in the chest, was in a critical but stable condition.

According to Italian authorities, Italian citizen Giacomo Attolini had hired the woman at his restoration firm. The Italian allegedly came on to the woman, who rejected him, and she and her 23 year-old husband demanded money from the Italian threatening to sue him for sexual harassment otherwise.

The three had agreed to meet on Sunday and the Romanians were supposed to receive a few thousand euros. Allegedly, the two raised the stake and also demanded the Italian’s car. The conflict degenerated and the Italian pulled out a gun, for which he had a license, and shot the two.

The shooter turned himself in a few hours after the incident and was arrested for attempted murder.
