Romania’s Rompetrol Cuts Pump Prices By Up To RON0.02/Liter

Romania’s second-largest oil company Rompetrol Group NV cut Friday its pump prices by up to 0.02 lei (EUR1= RON3.6198) per liter, the company said in a statement.

Rompetrol cut its Efix 95 gasoline price to RON4.05 per liter from RON4.07 per liter. One liter of Premium Euro 4 gasoline will cost RON4.09 per liter from RON4.11, while one liter of unleaded Euro Super 98 will cost RON4.68 per liter from RON4.69, Rompetrol said.

The company cut its Super Euro 5 diesel price by RON0.01 per liter to RON4.73 per liter, from RON4.74 per liter and Efix Diesel price to RON4.44 per liter from RON4.46 per liter.

Rompetrol cut Wednesday its pump prices by another RON0.05.

The Rompetrol Group, founded by oil tycoon Dinu Patriciu, operates in 13 countries and employs over 8,000 people. Its main assets are located in Romania, France, Spain and southeastern Europe.

Dutch-registered Rompetrol NV was bought by Kazakhstan’s KazMunaiGaz last year for an undisclosed sum. Rompetrol has an enterprise value of $3.6 billion, indicating KazMunaiGaz paid some $2.7 billion for a 75% stake in the company.
