Updated data: 168 Romanians are confirmed with coronavirus infection

"In the context of the evolution of the epidemiological situation caused by the spread of COVID-19, the president of Romania, Mr. Klaus Iohannis, signed on Monday, 16 March, this year, the decree establishing the state of emergency in the territory of Romania for 30 days, the measures adopted being found in the annex to this release. To date (Monday), in Romania, 168 cases of people infected with COVID-19 (coronavirus) have been confirmed. Of the 168 citizens who contacted the virus, 9 were declared healed and left the hospitals", according to GCS.

Since the last information, 10 new cases have been confirmed, as follows: 4 in Bucharest, 2 in Ilfov and one in Constanţa, Teleorman, Neamţ and Mureş.

All newly confirmed positive persons at COVID-19 are either contacts of positive cases or quarantined persons. The 10 people are between 21 and 63 years old.

"In the territory of Romania, in institutionalized quarantine are 3.078 persons for whom checks are carried out to detect if they have contacted the virus COVID-19 (coronavirus). Other 14.845 people are in isolation at home and are under medical supervision. To date, 3.708 tests have been processed at national level. Of these, 3.540 were negative, that is, the persons from whom the analyzed samples were taken are not infected with COVID-19. The tests were performed in 7 health units in Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Timişoara, Craiova, Iaşi and Constanţa", according to the source.

So far, 36 criminal files have been registered, in the aspect of committing the crime of negating the fight against diseases, a fact stipulated and punished by art. 352 paragraph 1 Criminal Code.

Until Monday, 51.771 cases were reported in EU / EEA, United Kingdom, Monaco, San Marino, Switzerland, Andorra. Most cases were registered in Italy, France, Germany, Spain and the United Kingdom.
