The Labor Inspectorate for Romania’s capital city Bucharest decided to halt works at the Baneasa Passageway, where three workers died and one was injured Friday when the construction site they were working at cave in and buried them alive.

Labor inspectorate head Bujor Constantin said investigations were started regarding the accident and inspectors will get all documents pertaining to that event on Monday.
 
He added the firm working at the construction site hadn’t said it is opening one 30 days ahead, as the law requires, and can be fined 4,000 (EUR1=RON4.1762)to RON8,000.
 
Constantin also said the investigation will establish who is to blame for the death of the three workers.
 
On the other hand, the general manager of Romania’s national roads and highways company CNADNR, Dorina Tiron, told MEDIAFAX Saturday that works on the passageway will not be delayed as activity is halted only at the accident site.
