The statement notes that Iliescu is “conscious, with stable cardiovascular status, breathing spontaneously with supplemental oxygen”.

The former president is receiving advanced treatment and is being closely monitored by a multidisciplinary medical team.

Iliescu, who recently received a diagnosis of lung cancer, remains under intensive care as part of his ongoing treatment.
