Patriciu: It's Unfortunate Romania Supports Nuclear Pwr Projects

"Romania has a socialist mentality. The country goes ahead with the nuclear energy projects. In my opinion, being a couple of kilometers from Kozlodui (e.n. - Bulgarian nuclear plant) should make the politicians reject the nuclear power. It is an unfortunate thing," Patriciu said.

Romania owns two nuclear reactors, which provide around 18% of the country's electricity consumption and intends to build to other reactors and even a second nuclear plant.

Romanian businessman Dinu Patriciu is the former owner and president of the Rompetrol Group, which he sold to Kazakhstan state-run oil group KazMunayGaz. He has several investments in various economic sectors, including energy.
