Romania Extends Code Yellow Weather Warning For 11 Counties

The warning was issued for Maramures, Bistrita-Nasaud, Mures, Harghita, Covasna, Suceava, Neamt, Bacau, Vrancea, Botosani and Iasi and is valid from Thursday at noon until Friday at noon.

The quantity of rain in these counties is expected to  exceed 25-35 liters per square meter, and 50 liters per square meter in some areas.

The code orange warning issued Tuesday for counties Mehedinti, Gorj, Valcea, Arges, Hunedoara, Sibiu, Alba and Cluj expired Wednesday morning. The code yellow warning issued for 25 counties in western Romania was lifted Wednesday at noon.
