Romania Leu In Ranges, Exch Rate Hits New Low At 4.1949 Vs Euro

Against the US dollar, the leu’s indicative gained nearly 0.6% at 3.3819 units.

The leu opened higher against the euro Tuesday, amid a positive sentiment in the region following the euro’s appreciation versus the greenback.

The leu opened at 4.1915/4.193 per euro, from 4.198/4.2 at closing Monday and further gained ground to an intraday high at 4.1875 units.

At around GMT1000, the leu traded at 4.194/4.196 per euro.

On the money market Tuesday, overnight rates were at 5%-5.5% a year, up on the day.
