Romanian Democrat Liberals Back Opening Investigation On Former Youth&Sports Min

President of Romania’s Democrat Liberal Party Emil Boc on Monday said his party backs the commencement of criminal investigation in the case of former youth and sports minister Monica Iacob Ridzi, in order to give her the chance to prove her innocence in justice.

Boc said the Democrat Liberal Party will not use the Parliament as a shield and will not obstruct justice.

Boc said that the commencement of criminal investigation doesn’t mean that Ridzi is guilty, adding that the presumption of innocence has to be observed.

The Standing Office of the Chambers of Deputies is now analyzing the letter of Romania’s prosecutor general on the opening of the criminal investigation on former minister Monica Iacob Ridzi.
