"Our target-turnover stands attainable, especially since January and February started off on the right foot," the company's marketing manager Radu Apostolescu said in a press release.

The company said it counts on its financial stability and premium computerized system to boost its sales.

"In 2010, the retail market of IT&C products and consumer appliances and electronics will register (...) a slight increase of 10%, following last year's extremely harsh correction. Online businesses, however, will see a stronger increase of 40% mainly driven by a natural upward trend backed by higher broadband access and consumers' appetite for online stores, and also due to market players becoming more mature and bringing added value to the services provided, which boosts confidence in online purchases," the press release also read.

The company will set up this year at least three showrooms "in key locations to cover wider areas," the company said.

In 2009, the company's four showrooms in capital Bucharest, northeastern city of Iasi, northwestern city of Cluj-Napoca and southern Ploiesti reported sales of EUR25,000/sqm.

eMAG also targets to boost sales on the corporate segment in 2010.

Apostolescu said the company's sales were down 12% last year, with monthly sales swinging from a 40% decrease in May, to an increase of 35% in December, compared to corresponding months in 2008.

The segment of laptops and netbooks posted the highest sales, with home electronics posting the highest increase, nearly 2,000 LCD televisions sets sold per month at the end of 2009.

The company's is majority owned by IT products distributor Asesoft Distribution.
